Hubert Burda, owner of BUNTE Magazine commissioned Andy Warhol to create a painting for the inauguration of the new offices of Bunte in Munich on December 3rd, 1983.

Hubert Burda had visited Warhol in New York City and was impressed by his approach and by his magazine Interview, which inspired him to modernize the format of Bunte magazine.

​

This POST painting was commissioned by Hubert Burda at the occasion of the exhibition BUNTE Art in June 2018 in Munich to tell the story of their collaboration and friendship. It presents a detail of this huge 4.3 m high painting.
